Update 9-30-25
Romans 13:9-10 "... Love your neighbor as yourself. Love does not wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law."
- Let us be in prayer for the community in Michigan and especially the faith community that was attacked. There is no place for this in our world. Let us love our neighbor as ourselves. As Gilbert said this past Sunday when he defined how his understanding of a neighbor has expanded "a neighbor is anyone God puts in his path that is in need." Let us be a neighbor.
- This Saturday (October 4) we will give God thanks for the animals in our lives. Come to Wynetka Ponds Dog Park from 9-10:30a, and Pastor Blakeley and I will be present to offer a blessing for the joy added to our lives. We will then offer blessings as you drive through FPCL's parking lot from 11-Noon.
- A new sermon series begins this Sunday (October 5) "What Disciples Do". This series will carry us through the end of the liturgical year (November 23); this Sunday's focus is "Follow Jesus." This Sunday is also a communion Sunday, and specifically World Communion Sunday. We will provide some breads that represent different parts of the world that you may choose, draw out a cup, partake, and return to your seat.
- Christmas Cantata Rehearsals begin October 12 at 830; come join the joyous singing as we prepare for the birth of Christ --- the Cantata will be presented on December 21.
- October 12 and 19 we will be taking individual/family photos for the new church directory. Photos will be taken 30 minutes before and after worship each of those Sundays in Ayers Parlor. If you cannot make it, please call the office to make an appointment.
Friends, wherever you go, may your LOVE for God be visible to others by how you treat them as a neighbor.
Go in peace!
